Bolton have received some more bad news with regards to their Cardiff loanees as full-back Kevin McNaughton has been ruled out for a month.

On Tuesday the Bluebirds made the mystifying move to recall forward Joe Mason less than 24 hours after they had agreed to let him link up with McNaughton at the Reebok Stadium.

And now boss Dougie Freedman has learned that McNaughton, 31, suffered a hamstring injury in the 3-1 win over Millwall on Saturday which is likely to keep him out for the next four weeks.

McNaughton had played every minute of Bolton's current seven-match unbeaten run since joining in late September.
