Charlton Athletic have signed French right-back Loic Nego from Hungarian side Újpest for an undisclosed fee.

The 23-year-old has penned a three-and-a-half year deal with the Addicks and is in contention to make his debut against Wigan on Saturday.

Négo started his career at Nantes in France before moving to Italian giants Roma. He enjoyed a loan spell in Belgium with Standard Liege before moving to Újpest.

With Lawrie Wilson about to start a three-game ban and Chris Solly still struggling with a knee injury, Négo may well make his debut against the Latics.
