Rhoys Wiggins has signed a bumper new four-and-a-half year contract at Charlton Athletic.
The 26-year-old left-back's previous deal was due to expire at the end of the season but he has now committed himself to The Valley until 2018.
"I'm delighted," Wiggins, who will return from suspension at Wigan this weekend, told the club website..
"I wanted to get it sorted before my contract ran down any further and to get four-and-a-half years is perfect for me.
"I've got security now and I can just concentrate on the football side and staying in the division.
"There were a few little fine details to try and sort out, but I was happy with the contract offer that was put in front of me to start with. Hopefully now other players will get contracts and we can all concentrate on keeping the club up.
"That's the main priority now. We all want to be playing Championship football next season. To get the contract signed now is a weight off the shoulders.
"It's done now and I can concentrate on playing for Charlton and getting the club where it needs to be."
Meanwhile young Charlton striker Joe Pigott has joined Gillingham on a month's loan.
