Blackburn Rovers manager Gary Bowyer has been handed a one-match touchline ban and fined £3,000 after admitting a charge of misconduct at a Football Association disciplinary hearing.

Bowyer admitted to " using language and/or behaviour in or around the tunnel and/or dressing room area" after his side's 2-2 draw at Barnsley on January 28.

The 42-year-old, who appeared in person at the hearing, felt aggrieved at the final whistle after Blackburn defender Grant Hanley had been controversially adjudged to have fouled Liam Lawrence inside the area.

Barnsley striker Chris O'Grady converted the subsequent penalty to deny Blackburn three points.

Bowyer is in his first full season as manager at Ewood Park after replacing Michael Appleton in March 2013.
