Bolton Wanderers manager Dougie Freedman is likely to make a decision soon regarding whether Mikael Dyrestam is fit enough to solve their problem full-back position.

The twice-capped Sweden international, 22, has been training with the club in order to prove his fitness after a serious knee injury.

The former IFK Gothenburg defender will have to show Freedman he can handle the pace of Championship football.

Freedman told The Bolton News: "We really like him.

"It isn't so much a trial because he has really only been doing fitness tests but we have him for one more day and then I'll see where we are.

"He has impressed me but I know him anyway. I have seen him a few times in Gothenburg and watched him play.

"He has got huge potential - a couple of caps already - and he is the profile of the type of player I want to sign."
