Queens Park Rangers midfielder Ravel Morrison has been named the Sky Bet Championship Player of the Month for March.

Morrison has accepted his move from the Premier League as a challenge and responded with an assist and five goals during March, including a fabulous free kick in the 2-0 win at Birmingham City.

QPR manager Harry Redknapp said: "I am really pleased for him.

"He's been good on the pitch and good off the pitch as well. He's been great around the place and not a minute's problem.

"He is a kid with amazing football ability. It would be a real waste if he doesn't become a top England player of the future.

"It's a well-deserved award and let's hope he can win it again this month."

Sky Sports' Football League pundit Don Goodman said: "Ravel's QPR career started with a bang and five goals in eight March appearances.

"QPR's choc-a-bloc calendar and a huge injury list has stretched the squad to the limit.

"To be able to acquire a player of Morrison's undoubted talent and to watch him inspire vital wins against Birmingham, Yeovil and Middlesbrough must have given Harry enormous pleasure."

Sky Bet Head of Football Paul Wiggins said: "It's been a superb month for Morrison as he got QPR's promotion push back on track.

"QPR will be looking to Morrison to maintain this form if they are to have any chance of catching Burnley in the race for automatic promotion."
