Yeovil have released captain Jamie McAllister but offered deals to five players ahead of life back in League 1.

Scot McAllister led the Glovers to promotion out of the third tier last May but has been handed a free transfer along with Joey Jones, a defender who found his first-team chances limited at Huish Park.

"Jamie has been a fantastic servant to me both here at Yeovil and at Bristol City," Johnson told the club's official website. "He is 36 now and I think he still has a couple of good years ahead of him in somebody's first team.

"I and everybody at Yeovil Town wish Jamie the best of luck in the future at whichever club he ends up at."

Marek Stech, called up into the Czech Republic squad on Tuesday, has been offered a new deal along with regulars Byron Webster, Luke Ayling and James Hayter and full-back Seth Nana Twumasi.

Spanish midfielder Ruben Palazuelos has returned home to Spain to find a new club, long-term injury absentee Nathan Ralph will be given the chance to prove his fitness in pre-season while discussions are ongoing with back-up goalkeeper Chris Dunn.
