Bolton Wanderers have signed midfielder Liam Trotter from Millwall on a permanent basis.

The 25-year-old has signed a three-year deal with Wanderers and will officially join the club on July 1 when his Millwall contract expires.

Trotter appeared 16 times for Bolton, scoring one goal, while loan at the Reebok Stadium during the second half of the season.

He spent four years with Millwall after progressing through the ranks at Ipswich, making 138 appearances and scoring 24 goals.

Trotter is Bolton's second end-of-season signing after fellow midfielder Neil Danns joined from Leicester last month.
