Brentford have signed midfielder Alan Judge from Blackburn Rovers on a permanent basis following his loan spell at the club.

The 25-year-old, who spent the second half of last season on loan at Griffin Park, has signed a three-year deal after both clubs agreed an undisclosed fee.

"Alan displayed all of the right qualities both on and off the pitch and played a big role in our achieving the desired goal of promotion to the Championship," Bees boss Mark Warburton told the club's official website.

"His evident playing ability is matched with an outstanding work ethic and level of professionalism and his commitment to Brentford has been first class from the very outset.

"I have no doubts that Alan will make a significant impact in the Championship and I am very much looking forward to watching him continue his development with the club in the months ahead.

"The fact that we can secure players of Alan's quality also speaks volumes about the network of staff we have at the club."

Judge, a former Republic of Ireland Under-21 international, made 22 appearances for Brentford last season, scoring seven goals.

He started out at Blackburn before a loan move to Notts County was made permanent in January 2011 and spent three years at Meadow Lane before returning for a second spell at Ewood Park in the summer of 2013.
