Nottingham Forest have signed Dutch striker Lars Veldwijk from Excelsior for an undisclosed fee.

The 22-year-old underwent a medical at the club on Monday but had returned to Holland to mull over the Reds' contract offer.

The targetman, who scored 34 goals in 42 league games last term, has now put pen to paper on a three-year contract.

He helped Excelsior claim promotion to the Eredivisie, scoring four goals in as many matches during their successful play-off campaign.
