Zak Whitbread and Lee Naylor have agreed one-year deals with Derby County.

Both defenders are free agents, with Whitbread having been released by Barclays Premier League newcomers Leicester and Naylor out of contract after seeing his short-term deal with the Rams expire.

Whitbread, 30, made four appearances while on loan at the iPro Stadium last season and was seen as cover for the central defensive pairing of Richard Keogh and Jake Buxton.

Naylor joined Steve McClaren's men in February and the 34-year-old was used as cover for left-back Craig Forsyth, making four substitute appearances.
