Rotherham United have signed midfielder Paul Green following his release by Leeds United.

The Republic of Ireland International has agreed a two-year deal with the Millers after leaving Elland Road at the end of last season.

"We are delighted to have signed Paul after several chats with his representatives," said Millers boss Steve Evans.

"The lad had a magnificent finish to the season with Ipswich Town so it wasn't a surprise to find there was significant interest in him, so we are very pleased to add him to our squad.

"I think the lure of Championship football, knowing what we are about as a football club and our magnificent stadium, all helped to convince him that this was the club for him.

"Paul is a full international, he has just returned from an end-of-season trip with Martin O'Neill's Republic of Ireland, so he will be given a few more days to recuperate.

"He has been down here to finalise the deal and have his medical, but he won't officially begin work with us until Monday next week."

Green, the Millers' 11th summer signing, started his career at Doncaster and in 2008 moved on to Derby, where he spent four years, before a two-year stint at Leeds.
