Blackpool have announced the signing of striker François Zoko on a one-year deal with an option of a further year.

The 30-year-old, who has been on trial at Bloomfield Road over the summer, scored 17 goals for Stevenage last season in League Two and has spent the last five years in England.

Ivorian Zoko began is career in France with Nancy before spells at Laval and Mons.

"It's very exciting to take this new challenge," he told the official club website.

"I'm very happy because it is a good step for me to play Championship football and improve again."

The Seasiders have endured a torrid start to their campaign, losing both of their opening fixtures and being unable to name a full substitute's bench.
