A grey BMW X5. It's a far cry from my first car, which was a red A-reg Ford Escort that cost £700 when I was 17.

Do you do DIY?

I love DIY. I do all sorts - painting, decorating, building units, putting up furniture. I've just done my wee girl's room. I did Craft and Design at school and got a higher. I enjoy stuff like that and my wife appreciates it. I've done a few things for the boys at the club. I've done a few jobs for Lee Johnson and Ivan Sproule. They don't pay me but I usually get a Chinese and a few beers,

Have you had any DIY disasters?

I've had a few injuries. I cut my thumb badly while sawing some shelves for my double wardrobe. I had a gash just below my thumb. It didn't stop me from playing, but it's a good thing I'm not a goalkeeper.

Spaghetti Bolognese, macaroni cheese with bacon, or some chicken with Parma ham. When my wife goes back to Scotland, a few of the lads usually come round on a Friday night before a game and I cook for them. They seem to enjoy it.

Best prank on tour?

A few of the boys like to play pranks. The most recent one we've been doing on away trips is to fill the bins in the hotel rooms with water - usually three-quarters or half full - and put it against the door and when the door opens the water goes everywhere. It's pretty childish, but funny.

Wembley is the best I've actually played at. But the best stadium I've been to is the Amsterdam Arena, where I recently trained with Scotland.

If you weren't a footballer, what would you be?

Probably a joiner or something to do with architecture.

I'm a fair weather golfer. In the summer I get down to 12 but it's usually around 14. There's a few golfers in the squad and I'm in the top three.

I'd love to go into coaching. I'm doing my badges this summer. I've got a few properties. I like doing them up and selling them on. I did one up a few summers ago. I knocked down the walls and did all the rewiring.

I'm a neat freak. I like everything in its place and in order.
