1 - Hull City's 2-2 draw against Cardiff City secured the Tigers' return to the Premier League - it was the first time the Yorkshire outfit have won promotion on the final day of a regular season.

3 - Sheffield Wednesday are certainly no strangers to final-day drama, with the Owls having something riding on the season's finale in three of the last four campaigns. This season it was their Championship status, which was confirmed with Saturday's 2-0 triumph against Middlesbrough.

9 - The Championship season came to a close in dramatic fashion with nine goals being scored in the final 10 minutes of Saturday's matches.

14 - Peterborough United were relegated after collecting 54 points - last term, that tally would have seen the Posh finish 14 points clear of the danger zone.

30 - Glenn Murray notched his 30th league goal of the campaign when he converted a penalty just before half-time in Crystal Palace's 3-2 victory over Peterborough.

1985 - Wolverhampton Wanderers were relegated to the third tier on 4th May 1985, after relegation from the top flight the season before, when they fell to defeat at Brighton and Hove Albion. History repeated itself this season - exactly 28 years later - when they lost 2-0 at the Amex Stadium on Saturday.

31,375 - The largest attendance in The Football League at the weekend came at Hillsborough for Sheffield Wednesday's match with Middlesbrough.
