Milton Keynes Dons have won the Sky Digital Media Best Digital Communication award at the 2009 Football League Awards incorporating FourFourTwo's Top 50 Football League Players.

The club received the award at a gala dinner at Grosvenor House, Park Lane on Sunday evening in front of more than 800 attendees from clubs, sponsors and the football industry.

Milton Keynes Dons took their Soccer AM style review programme 'The Dons Show' on the road to local schools, increasing interest and subscriber levels for their digital offering and at the same time encouraging community involvement. Designed for digital internet broadcast via the Club's 'World' service, the show is put together in an imaginative style, delivering fans a light-hearted insight into the team and club in a way that stands out from other clubs. Local schools are invited to be involved in all aspects of the show making it a unique offering. The success of the show is tangible, having helped to deliver an above target increase in subscriber numbers.

Ben Gallop, Head of BBC Sport Interactive, and judge in this category, commented that this was "an innovative idea with clear objectives, impressive engagement with local schools, and high production standards - especially given the small budget. It has delivered strong results on the objectives and is a highly creative example of how to get the best out of digital media."

Reading were Highly Commended by the judging panel for the club's all round digital communication platform which demonstrated a consistent level of excellence and innovation.
