Burnley has won the Best Matchday Programme Award at the Football League Awards 2012.

Adam Riding, Graphic Designer for Burnley, collected the award at the gala ceremony at The Brewery, London, on Sunday evening in front of over 600 guests from clubs, sponsors and the football industry. This year there were a total of 17 awards with 32 clubs shortlisted for honours.

Burnley beat competition from Brighton & Hove Albion, Huddersfield Town, Notts County, Swindon Town and Torquay United to claim the overall Award, for the second time in four years.

Presented as a magazine, rather than a programme, Claret & You, offers supporters a bright, colourful, feature-packed publication. Designed and produced in-house, the magazine includes exclusive player features, nostalgia, celebrity contributors and bespoke imagery as well as utilising social media to generate content.

On winning the award Adam Riding said, "We have put in some late nights in the office this season but we don't mind because we are all fans of the club.

"We have fantastic writers and two really good photographers and that resource means we're able to bring something new to the publication each year.

"We have tried to make sure it is different to every other club's programme and this award really means a lot."When assessing the category, judges looked for excellence in design, use of imagery, features, innovation, value for money and overall content in match programmes from the 2011/12 season.
