Plymouth Argyle supporter Sue Pollard has been named the npower Fan of the Year at The Football League Awards 2012.
Sue received the award at the gala ceremony at The Brewery, London, on Sunday evening in front of over 600 guests from clubs, sponsors and the football industry. This year there were a total of 17 awards with 32 clubs shortlisted for honours.
Sue beat competition from Middlesbrough supporter Paddy Cronesberry, the npower Championship winner, and Preston North End's Lynn Noon, the npower League 1 winner, to claim the overall Award.
Sue was the driving force behind an army of volunteers that raised funds during Plymouth's recent period in administration, with the money generated helping to save the club and pay staff. She started by turning up with a collection bucket and went on to further drive funds and promote the club in any way she could.
On winning the award Sue said, "It is amazing to win this award but it is not just for me, it is for everyone who has worked so hard to keep the club alive.
"Everybody has been uniting to save the club and they will always have our support. I can't imagine what life would be like without Plymouth Argyle."
Emma Collins from npower said: "Sue's unwavering commitment and passion for her club is truly remarkable - she is the epitome of Fanpower and what can be achieved through sheer tenacity and love for your club. On behalf of everyone at npower I would like to congratulate her on an incredible achievement."
When assessing the category, judges looked for someone they felt had gone above and beyond the call of duty and added that extra special bit of devotion to their club.
