Swindon youngsters won the trip of a lifetime when they took a behind the scenes tour of Wembley - and got to lift the FA Cup!

The youngsters won the prize at the Robins' junior football tournament - when their teams were judged to have been the best-behaved during matches.

Town's Community staff and over 50 children and parents from local clubs Ramsbury, Croft, Fairford and Chippenham travelled by rail to London with tournament sponsors First Group.

They were given a guided tour of the new 90,000-seat stadium and shown the dressing rooms, Royal box, press room, executive boxes and dugouts before getting their hands on the famous trophy.

Swindon Town Community Manager Jon Holloway said: "The kids all had a fantastic time. We've been on a few tours before but this was the best by far.

"The players showed a first class attitude at the tournament in May and they all really deserved their day out.

"It's not every day you get to hold the FA Cup so maybe this could be the inspiration for the kids to make it at the highest level in the game"

Football League Trust Regional Manager John Relish said: "Rewarding children who show respect at a young age is vital for the future of the sport.

"The prize was a result of their good behaviour on the pitch which will hopefully encourage them to play the game in the right spirit throughout their lives."
