Coventry City have joined the Good Sports scheme which aims to make primary school children more active in the classroom.
The Coca-Cola Championship side is working with the Coventry School Sports Partnership, which is made up of clusters of schools in the area.
The Good Sports scheme introduces active learning - where dance moves and aerobics become part of maths and English classes!
Sports-themed posters go on show in every participating school classroom where 'exercise minutes' by the pupils are recorded.
The introduction of the Good Sports scheme follows a successful pilot project last year.
It has now been rolled out in over 70 primary schools in the area with 15,000 children taking part.
Coventry School Sports Partnership co-ordinator Stuart Davoile said: "The early stages of the project have been a huge success.
"The partnership with the club has really motivated the children to be more active.
"Teachers say pupils are happier and concentration levels in class are improving."
At the end of term the most active classes get a visit from a Blues' player.
Football League Trust Regional Manager Mike Evans said: "The success of the partnership has been very encouraging.
"The problem of childhood obesity is well documented, so schemes such as these are crucial to ensure the health and well being of young people in the future."
