Leicester City kicked off their summer soccer schools by inviting youngsters to play on the pitch at the Walkers Stadium.

The Coca-Cola League 1 champions hosted a three-day coaching course for kids aged eight to 13.

As well as games on the pitch, there was a focus on the importance of healthy eating, regular exercise and staying positive.

Former Foxes' skipper Matt Elliot was on hand to offer coaching tips and advice.

The youngsters were treated to a behind-the-scenes tour of the stadium, and got the chance to take a close-up look at the League 1 trophy!

Football in the Community Manager Craig White was delighted with the success of the course.

He said: "The kids had a fantastic time being at the ground and playing on the pitch.

"We really appreciate the club allowing us access as it makes for a great experience."

Football League Trust Regional Manager Mike Evans said: "Soccer schools always prove hugely popular throughout the summer.

"Football League clubs across the country offer fantastic programmes for boys and girls of all abilities.

"For the youngsters at Leicester to play at the Walkers Stadium makes things extra special."
