Staff at Doncaster Rovers have raised over £1,000 after a gruelling trek through the Yorkshire Dales.

Chief Executive Dave Morris, Head of Commercial Laura Whiting and Events & Hospitality Manager Helen Williams battled through 40mph winds to reach the summit of Inglebrook Peak.

The 2,393ft climb was in aid of the NSPCC - the Championship club's designated charity partner.

The Donny trio were joined by the girls' partners, Martin Miller and Tom Parkin.

Despite the driving rain and thick fog, they completed the walk in nine hours and five minutes.

Whiting said: "It was a real struggle, but we're so happy to have raised the money.

"We didn't know what to expect but everyone has been very generous. It was well worth the pain!"

She added: "We're planning more activity over the course of the season to raise extra cash for the NSPCC.

"The next event is a sponsored bike ride, but I think I might stick to being a spectator this time!"
