Every Player Counts, a 'Leading Project' of The Football League Trust, is up and running at Ipswich Town.

Every Player Counts works to improve the self esteem, confidence, fitness and overall well-being of the pan-disability players who take part.

The scheme has been devised by the Trust with funding from the New Football Pools. This season 36 Football League clubs are involved.

Ipswich Town Community Trust Chief Executive Terry Baxter was presented with a cheque for £60,000 by the New Football Pools.

He said: "The partnership between the Trust and the New Football Pools can only help to strengthen and extend the wide-ranging disability football opportunities we deliver.

"This initiative is all about making sure that those who want to take part in sport have the support and facilities to do so, irrespective of ability."

Every Player Counts provides coaching, and matches for players to take part in.

New Football Pools Marketing Director Jon Sheehy handed over the cheque prior to Town's Championship clash against Derby County.

He said: "We have a long-standing relationship with community football. We have invested over £530m in the past 86 years.

"We are delighted to build on this legacy and support Ipswich Town Community Trust's disability projects through this fantastic Every Player Counts initiative."
