The Exeter City squad paid their annual visit to the Royal Devon & Exeter hospital at Christmas.

Members of the Grecians' First Team handed out special teddy bears to children in Bramble Ward.

Six-year-old Charlie was one of the lucky children to receive a bear. Hiss mother Laura said: "The team and the people who have raised the money for these bears have made his day.

"Not just receiving the bear, but also meeting the players as well. One of the players even offered to play a game of table footy with Charlie."

The annual trip was supported by the Build-A-Bear store in Exeter and the players were hugely popular with children and staff alike.

Bramble Ward Senior Matron Sarah Haywood said: "The Exeter City football team have once again been kind enough to support the children and families who are resident on Bramble Unit.

"We are extremely grateful to them for taking the time out of their busy schedule to bring some festivity and smiles to the faces of the children."

Exeter City Senior Commercial Manager Mark Jenkins said: "We were delighted to go down to the hospital, and thrilled that a visit from our players can put a smile on some young faces."
