Colchester United Community Sports Trust (CUCST) is inviting players to sign up to take part in a forthcoming Pan Disability 6-a-side Football Tournament on Thursday 5th August at the Shrub End Community and Sports Centre.

Earlier this year CUCST received funding to deliver a three-year, pan-disability scheme under the Every Player Counts programme which is led by The Football League Trust and supported by The New Football Pools.

The programme will see CUCST develop football opportunities for people with all types of disability in the area and the upcoming tournament is being hosted as part of this work. A similar event was held in June, attracting more than 100 players.

David Streetley, CUCST's Community Inclusion Manager, commented: "We're really keen to spread the word about this tournament and open up opportunities to people who may not otherwise have the chance to take part in this kind of activity.

"Over the past few months attendance at our regular pan disability activities has continued to grow. As well as helping people with disabilities to keep active, the sessions also help them to make friends, work as part of a team and make real achievements on the pitch."

To find out more about the tournament or to sign up to take part visit www.cucst.org.uk and click on 'community inclusion' or contact David Streetley on 07771 652434 or email dstreetley@cucst.org.uk.

The Shrub End Community and Sports Centre is located on Boadicea Way with the tournament taking place from 2pm to 5.30pm. Players must be 16 and over and need to register in advance to take part in the free tournament.
