Leyton Orient Chief Executive Matt Porter was appointed to the board of The Football League in June 2014, replacing John Nixon after Carlisle United's relegation to League 2.

Porter joined Leyton Orient in 2001 as Press Officer, a role which he occupied for five years before being made the youngest Chief Executive in English football by O's chairman Barry Hearn in the summer of 2006, aged just 26.

He is also the Chief Executive of the Professional Darts Corporation.
