Phil Alexander was elected to the Football League board in June 2012, replacing Derby County Chief Executive Tom Glick, who moved to a new role with Manchester City.
Alexander began his career in football as a player, captaining England at Under-18 level and playing professionally with Norwich City.
This was followed by a spell in American Football as a kicker for the London Monarchs, winning the World Bowl in front of 75,000 fans at Wembley Stadium.
He joined the administration side of the game with Swindon Town in 1993, during the Robins' most recent spell in the top flight, before moving to Crystal Palace in 1996.
