The Football League has extended its partnership with official ball supplier Mitre until 2015.
The deal will see the world's oldest football brand become the longest serving of The Football League's commercial partners. Mitre has been the official ball supplier of The Football League for over a quarter of a century and will now continue to provide match balls to the npower Championship, npower League 1 and npower League 2 as well as the Carling Cup and the Johnstone's Paint Trophy for a further four years.
The official matchball of The Football League, the Mitre TENSILE, will continue to be used for the 2011/12 season. The TENSILE has a unique graphic design; with each of the 72 clubs using balls individually printed in club colours and displaying their club badge. Comprising of just ten panels and with 30% less stitching, the TENSILE is a revolution in football design; improving airflow and reducing drag - making it a striker's dream with 4,963 goals scored during the 2010/11 regular season.
