Teams representing Doncaster Rovers and Plymouth Argyle will go head to head in the Championship Final of The Football League's Community Cup at Wembley on Monday. The match will take place on the pitch prior to the Coca-Cola Championship Play-Off Final between Burnley and Sheffield United.
The Community Cup is a national six-a-side competition for children under the age of 11, organised by The Football League Trust and club community departments. This year's competition attracted entries from more than 2,000 schools from across the country, with around 16,000 players taking part. Each club's community department hosts a local competition to produce a winning school to go forward to represent them their respective regional final.
Having progressed through the qualifying rounds, this year's Final sees Barnby Dun Primary School, representing Doncaster Rovers, taking on Bickley Down Church of England Primary School, representing Plymouth Argyle. The Doncaster Rovers team won the Northern Regional Final and their place at Wembley by beating teams representing Barnsley, Blackpool and Derby County, while Plymouth Argyle's representative team beat Bristol City, Reading, Crystal Palace and Southampton en route to being crowned Southern Regional Champions.
