With the January transfer window getting ever nearer, a lot of npower Football League clubs will be preparing the scouts to strengthen their squads and uncover new talent.

However, Bolton Wanderers, Ipswich Town and Birmingham City have all taken a slightly more unorthodox approach as star players Kevin Davies, Scott Loach and Curtis Davies took to their local streets to unearth some hidden young stars.

The players went searching for new talent in schools, local parks, and even back gardens to launch this season's npower Football League Kids Cup. With over 5,000 participants last year, the national schools under 11 football tournament has gone from strength to strength and sees the final played at Wembley Stadium before the npower Play-Off Finals.

As the video suggests, we could be in for an even higher influx of talented youngsters in this year's competition as all the pros were given the run around by their young proteges. In the npower Football League Kids Cup, schools compete locally for the right to represent their local Football League club, before going on to compete against other schools on their road to Wembley.
