The Manager's of the Month have already been announced and now it's the turn of the players.

September was a fantastic month for Wolverhampton Wanderers, who stay top of the Coca-Cola Championship table and for Michael Kightly it was a month to remember.

The former Grays Athletic midfielder has been in outstanding form so far this season, scoring four goals, including one in September. He has been one of the keys to Wolves' success proving the ammunition for strikers Sylvain Ebanks-Blake and Chris Iwelumo.

Reading striker Kevin Doyle is another who has inspired his club, with five goals during September to take his tally to eight for the season so far. The Irishman bagged a hat trick in the Royals' 6-0 win over Sheffield Wednesday before following it up with two against Swansea in a 4-0 win.

Burnley went through the month of September unbeaten, earning manager Owen Coyle the Manager of the Month award and midfielder Joey Gudjonsson a nomination for the player award.

The Icelandic international has been the driving force in the middle of the pitch, also chipping with vital goals against Swansea and local rivals Preston, who the Clarets went on to beat 3-1.

Derby County defender Martin Albrechtsen makes up the nominees, after helping Derby to their first win in almost 12 months. As well as putting in some solid defensive displays the former West Brom man scored in consecutive games against Cardiff and QPR.

In Coca-Cola League 1 Jermaine Beckford has continued where he left off last month. After scoring seven goals in August, the 24-year-old scored four goals in September, including a brace in the 3-1 win at Swindon.

Beckford is up against two other strikers for the award with Dougie Freedman and Craig Mackail-Smith also nominated. Freedman, who is now plying his trade with Southend United, after 10 years at Crystal Palace, has scored four goals in four games for the Shrimpers. The 34-year-old scored twice in the 4-3 win at Crewe, as well as appearing on the scoresheet against Carlisle and Leyton Orient.

Craig Mackail-Smith has been prolific for Peterborough United, following his arrival from Dagenham and Redbridge, scoring 34 goals in just 59 starts, including five last month. The 24-year-old scored a hat-trick in the Posh's 5-4 win over Bristol Rovers and also found the target against Tranmere Rovers and Milton Keynes Dons.

Millwall goalkeeper David Forde makes up the quartet of nominees and is hoping to follow in the footsteps of his manager Kenny Jackett, who took the League 1 Manager of the Month award. The former West Ham keeper kept three clean sheets in the four games played in September, helping his side up to fifth in the table.

Bury striker Andy Bishop is another player hoping to make it a double for his club after Alan Knill took the Manager of the Month award for League 2. The former Walsall trainee scored in three consecutive games in September, helping his side to an impressive seven points. He scored the equaliser against Chester City, before scoring the final goal in the 3-1 win over Lincoln City and the equaliser against Barnet before Andy Morrell grabbed the winner.

Wycombe Wanderers currently sit joint top with the Shakers, largely down to goalkeeper Scott Shearer who conceded just one goal in his last seven games. The former Coventry and Bristol Rovers keeper has been in exceptional form and kept three clean sheets out of four games played during September.

Exeter City midfielder Matthew Gill hit a rich vein of scoring form in September scoring in each of the last four games. An impressive stat made even better with the fact that he failed to find the next in two years at Notts County!

Shrewsbury Town's skipper Ben Davies is another midfielder in goalscoring form, bagging four in September, including a brace in the Shrews' 7-0 win over Gillingham. The former Kidderminster and Chester player also scored against Bradford in the league and Exeter in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy.
