Birmingham City striker Quincy Owusu-Abeyie is desperate to make sweet music on the pitch - like his cousin does off it!

Summer arrival Quincy is the cousin of British rapper Sway DaSafo, who has won a Music Of Black Origin award.

DaSafo has been to St Andrews already this season to watch striker Abeyie. And the Ghana international hopes he can provide Birmingham with the rhythm for a promotion challenge.

And Abeyie - who started his career in the Premier League with Arsenal, before moving to Spartak Moscow - reckons he can give his rapping relative a run for his money!

He said: "I'm a big music fan. In my spare time I listen to rap music, R n' B, a bit of everything.

"My cousin is a rapper and I like to do a bit of it myself! I suppose you could call it something of a hobby as I have recorded a few songs already.

"I'm in regular contact with Sway. I've been to his shows and we've got a lot of family friends who all go along to watch him perform.

"I spoke to him about moving back to England and he said it was good for me to go to Birmingham. He said I can't go wrong because they are a good team."
