After a packed month in the Football League, selecting 12 players from the three divisions was a thankless task after so many noteworthy performances. However, the nominees for the Player of the Month awards have been selected, and the winners will be announced at 7:30pm on Monday night during Sky Sports' Big League Weekend 2.
In the Championship, three international strikers and one former Manchester United winger were nominated for the Championship Player of the Month award.
Chris Iwelumo rose to second place in the Championship top scorer charts after his impressive tally of six goals in November. The Scottish international striker scored four goals in the space of just three days with braces against Blackpool and then Sheffield United to ensure Wolverhampton Wanderers went into the final month of 2008 in pole position.
Republic of Ireland international Kevin Doyle also bagged himself six goals last month with two goals against both Bristol City and Derby County. The Reading striker is currently the top scorer in the Championship with 15 goals to his name already.
Chris Eagles appears to have carried on in the same rich vein of form this month as he showed in November after helping Burnley knock Arsenal out of the Carling Cup. Last month, Eagles netted twice against Norwich City, laid on a hatful of chances for his fellow teammates with his expert crossing, and the former Manchester United winger even scored in the penalty shoot-out which saw Chelsea also crash out of the Carling Cup.
30-year-old James Beattie continues to be a menace to defenders across the country. The Sheffield United striker managed to score six goals last month. Beattie scored twice against both Plymouth Argyle and Barnsley and also scored a dramatic last minute equaliser against Ipswich Town to rescue a point for the Blades.
The League 1 nominees for November see two strikers up for the Player of the Month award, an MK Dons defender and one goalkeeper who didn't concede a single goal in the league last month.
Matt Fryatt had a month to remember after scoring eight goals in total. The Leicester City striker scored four league goals and also bagged four cup goals, including a superb hat-trick against Dagenham & Redbridge. His goals in League 1 have been a major factor in the Foxes rise to the top of the table.
It's been a terrific month for MK Dons and Dean Lewington in particular. The 24-year-old left-back has been an integral part of Roberto Di Matteo's defence and last month played his part in helping the Dons keep three clean sheets out of four matches. On top of his defensive achievements, Lewington also scored with a great strike against Hartlepool United.
Simon Cox has been a shining light in Swindon Town's season, and currently sits in third position in the League 1 top scorer charts despite the Robins flirting perilously with the relegation zone. The striker scored a hat-trick against Scunthorpe Town as well as netting goals against high flying Leicester and Peterborough United, making it five league goals in November for the 21-year-old.
November saw a much needed change in fortunes for Leyton Orient, owed particularly to the form of their goalkeeper, Glenn Morris. The 24-year-old was in unbeatable form last month, and didn't concede a single league goal despite facing the likes of Hartlepool and Millwall.
In League 2, three strikers are up for the Player of the Month award, along with a certain goal scoring defender.
Matt Harrold found his shooting boots in November, scoring six goals in total, putting him at the top of Wycombe Wanderers' top scorer chart. A hat-trick in the FA Cup away to AFC Wimbledon was then followed by three league goals including a brace against Port Vale.
Grant Holt racked up seven goals in all competitions for Shrewsbury Town last month. His four league goals helped the Shrews go into December just outside the automatic promotion places, and the 27-year-old striker also scored three cup goals, taking his total number of goal to a hugely impressive 17 this season.
Rochdale's Adam Le Fondre hit a superb hat-trick against Barnet in the FA Cup, and also netted against Luton Town in the league. It was also Le Fondre's equaliser against Gillingham at the Preistfield Stadium which secured an important point for the Lancashire side down in Kent.
The final nominee for the League 2 Player of the Month award is Graeme Lee. The Bradford City defender scored scored in the league against Chesterfield - it was his free-kick that started the comeback from 2-0 down. As well as Lee's goal scoring feat last month, the defender also kept clean sheets against Rotherham United and Wycombe Wanderers, both away from home.
