Billy Davies welcomes his former club Preston North End to the City Ground in the first of the weekend's televised matches, kicking off at 5.20pm on Saturday.

Davies spent four years at Deepdale, after initially joining the club as Craig Brown's assistant in 2002. He then replaced his fellow countryman two years later and led the club to the Play-Offs on two occasions, a feat he would love to repeat this season.

Forest currently sit fourth in the Coca-Cola Championship, after an excellent recent run of form, which has seen them unbeaten in their last 13 matches, dating back to September 27th. In that period they have won eight and drawn seven.

Preston finally got back to winning ways last weekend, when goals from Richard Chaplow and Ross Wallace secured a 2-0 win over Plymouth Argyle. It was the Lancashire side's first win since October 20th, a run which has seen them drop to 13th in the table but just three points of a top six place.

The second live match comes from St James Park, when Newcastle United host North East rivals Middlesbrough on Sunday lunchtime.

Whatever happens on Saturday, United will go into the game as league leaders, as they currently sit seven points clear of West Bromwich Albion at the top.

Middlesbrough boss Gordon Strachan will be hoping his side can benefit from being away from home, after a recent run at the Riverside, which has left them without a home win since October. Their last win came when they beat Derby County 2-0 in what turned out to be Gareth Southgate's last game in charge.

The final piece of the action comes from Coca-Cola League 2 on Monday night when Bournemouth host Notts County at Dean Court.

Bournemouth have had a difficult couple of weeks, winning just one of their last five, culminating in a 5-0 drubbing at Morecambe last weekend. Despite the run they still sit second in the table but they will be looking to get back on track on Monday and take revenge on County who knocked them out of the FA Cup, just three weeks ago.

County will go into the game under the stewardship of Dave Kevan, who was put in caretaker charge of the club, following the departure of Hans Backe who stepped down after just seven weeks at the club.
