The excitement is building for the new npower Football League season and Sky Sports have taken a giant stride in their preparation for the upcoming 2012/13 campaign by releasing the schedule of their first 10 live fixtures.
The npower Championship match between Cardiff City and newly-promoted Huddersfield Town has been selected as the first fixture of the new season to hit our screens.
The game, which kicks off at 7.45pm on Friday 17th August, will be the first of up to 75 games from The npower Football League that are due to be aired live on Sky Sports next season.
If that match isn't enough to whet your appetite, the day after, on Saturday 18th August, Neil Warnock's Leeds United host Wolverhampton Wanderers, who were relegated from the Premier League, which will also be shown live on Sky Sports.
Two weeks later, on Sunday 9th September, it's the turn of npower League 1 with a double-header of action.
At 1.15pm Coventry City, who were relegated from the npower Championship, meet last season's defeated Play-Off semi-finalists Stevenage. Then, at 3.30pm, Crawley Town, who are in League 1 for the first time in their history, host former FA Cup winners Portsmouth.
Later in the month, there's two more matches that will be played in front of the Sky Sports cameras as Charlton Athletic take on Crystal Palace and Middlesbrough visit Blackburn Rovers.
And finally, in October, there's live npower Championship action from south Yorkshire as Sheffield Wednesday host rivals Leeds United.
As well as live fixtures from the npower Football League, Sky Sports will also be showing matches from the Capital One Cup First Round, which takes place the week before the opening game of the League season.
On Monday 13th August, Oldham Athletic host newly-promoted Sheffield Wednesday, whilst on Tuesday 14th August Paolo Di Canio's Swindon Town take on Gus Poyet's Brighton and Hove Albion.
