The Football League Trust and club community schemes up and down the country are getting ready for the start of the Football League Trust Futsal Scholarship programme and it's not too late for you to sign up.

Futsal is a fast-paced, exciting five-a-side game played by large numbers of teams from across the world, particularly South America. Football greats from Pele and Zico through to Ronaldo and Messi honed their talents through this highly skilful game.

Now the new Football League Trust Futsal Scholarship programme is giving 16 and 17 year olds the chance to wear the shirt and represent their club community scheme as part of a two-year course that also gives them the qualifications to go to University.

Through the Football League Trust programme, scholars will study for a B-tech Level 3 Extended Diploma in Sport whilst representing their Football League Community Scheme in a competitive league competition. With a qualification equivalent to three A-Levels, graduates from the programme are sure to have a bright future ahead of them.

Futsal Manager at The Football League Trust John Relish said: "The Football League Trust Futsal Scholarship programme is a really exciting opportunity for young people who want to get involved with sport and study for a top qualification at the same time.

"The Futsal League is sure to be a high quality tournament and will give young people the chance to wear their club shirt with pride in a really competitive environment.

"I'm looking forward to the first games kicking off later this month but it's not too late for people to get involved and play Futsal for their local Football League Community Trust."
