Blackpool Chairman Karl Oyston has been elected to the Board of The Football League.

Oyston replaces Shaun Harvey, formerly of Leeds United, who was recently appointed The Football League's new Chief Executive. Oyston has previously served on The Football League Board on two different occasions, most recently ahead of Blackpool's promotion to the Premier League in 2010.

Karl Oyston joins Chairman Greg Clarke, Independent Director Richard Bowker and fellow Championship representatives Andy Ambler (Millwall) and Keith Lamb (Middlesbrough). Also on the Board are League 1 representatives John Nixon (Carlisle United) and James Rodwell (Notts County), and League 2 representative Ian Lenegan (Oxford United).

Chairman of The Football League, Greg Clarke, said: "It's a pleasure to welcome Karl back to the Board of The Football League. Over the coming years his experience will be invaluable in helping shape our organisation as another exciting season of The Football League gets underway."

Chairman of Blackpool, Karl Oyston, said: "It is a great honour to once again serve on The Board of The Football League. I look forward to working closely with the rest of The Board and making a real contribution to the success of The League going forward."
