Wolverhampton Wanderers' draw against Coventry City on Saturday saw them become only the 10th club to reach a total of 100 points in a league season.

The club had already surpassed their previous club record points total of 92 which had been set when they were crowned Division Three Champions in 1988/89 under the guidance of Graham Turner and with the prolific Steve Bull leading their attack.

Wolves face Carlisle United at Molineux in their final game of the Sky Bet League 1 season on Saturday, giving them a chance to move into third place on the all-time record points table, behind Reading (106) and Sunderland (105).

Meanwhile, Sky Bet Championship title winners Leicester City have the opportunity of joining Wolves in the 'century club'. The Foxes are currently on 99 points, so a draw or a win at home to Doncaster Rovers will see them become the 11th club to reach three figures.

The 100 points total is something divisional title winners have been targeting since three points for a win was introduced by The Football League in 1981. The first club to achieve it was York City in 1984 on their way to winning Division Four.

Fulham are the only club to have reached the milestone twice, getting to 101 points in winning Division Two in 1998/99 and then matching that in 2000/01 when claiming the Division One title.

Wolves and Leicester City are two of six clubs that have already set new club record points totals this season, alongside Brentford, Burnley, Fleetwood Town and Leyton Orient, while Derby County have so far equalled their record total set in 1985/86.
