Norwich City boss Paul Lambert was celebrating today after being named Coca-Cola League 1 Manager of the Month for January 2010.

Lambert's side continued their recent run of good form with a fantastic return in January, securing six wins in as many league fixtures. They kicked off the month with back-to-back wins against Wycombe Wanderers and Exeter City before securing an emphatic 5-0 win away at promotion rivals Colchester United. The Canaries continued their impressive run with a further six points against Brentford and Walsall before rounding off a successful unbeaten run with a 2-1 win over Hartlepool to end the month at the top of Coca-Cola League 1.

Also short-listed for the January award were Geraint Williams of Leyton Orient, Kenny Jackett of Millwall and Swindon Town's Danny Wilson.

Alan Curbishley, Chairman of the Coca-Cola Manager of the Month Awards panel, said: "Paul Lambert continues to steer Norwich City back towards the Coca-Cola Championship at the first attempt. Eight straight home wins is a club record and things are certainly going superbly well for both Paul and the club."

Alan Irvine of Sheffield Wednesday won the award in the Championship and Ian Sampson of Northampton Town was given the League 2 accolade.

The decision to present the Coca-Cola League 1 Manager of the Month award was made by the Coca-Cola Awards panel. Headed by Alan Curbishley the panel also includes former World Cup referee Jack Taylor, on behalf of The Football League, Olaf Dixon of the League Managers Association and Steve Watts, Marketing Assets Manager, Coca-Cola Great Britain.
