Scunthorpe United came from behind to beat 10-man Tranmere Rovers, who had Jose Baxter dismissed, winning 4-2 to claim their second home win of the season, with Brentford beating Chesterfield 2-1 at Griffin Park thanks to goals from Sam Saunders and Dale Bennett.

Stevenage overcame Bury 2-1 at Gigg Lane after Andy Bishop had a second-half goal disallowed for the home side, with Francois Zoko scoring twice to earn Carlisle a 3-3 draw at home to Oldham Athletic.

Colchester  United beat Notts County 4-2 at home with all six goals scored in a thrilling second half.

Meanwhile, Bournemouth came from behind to stretch Preston North End 's winless run to six games with a 3-1 defeat of the Lilywhites at Deepdale.

Leyton Orient beat Rochdale 2-0 at Spotland thanks to goals by Jimmy Smith and David Mooney, and Sheffield United drew 4-4 with Exeter City in an action-packed game at Bramall Lane.

MK Dons won 2-0 at Walsall after the West Midlands side were reduced to 10 men after half an hour at the Bescot Stadium.

Sheffield Wednesday came from behind to beat second-bottom Wycombe Wanderers 2-1 after the Chairboys were reduced to 10 men at Adams Park.
