Huddersfield Town striker Jordan Rhodes has been named npower League 1 Player of the Month for October.

Rhodes netted nine goals in six games to help the Terriers to 16 points and second place in the table.

Rhodes said: "It's been a great month, especially as we've recorded five wins. I can only say how well the team have done throughout October and how well the manager has done as well.

"It's great to get recognised and win the award - I'm really happy about that. But more importantly we are second in the league now and we want to carry on our good run against Walsall."

Sky Sports' Football League expert Peter Beagrie sits on the npower Player of the Month judging panel.

He said: "What a month October was for Jordan Rhodes. Back-to-back league hat-tricks helped Huddersfield continue their amazing unbeaten run.

"The deadly young marksman has also had his form rewarded with a call-up to the senior Scotland squad."

npower Head of Sponsorship Emma Collins said: "Jordan was in unbelievable form during October, leading Huddersfield's attack with a series of excellent displays.

"There's no doubt he will be near the top of the goal-scoring charts if he continues to perform like he did last month.

"I'd like to congratulate Jordan on behalf of npower, and wish him the best of luck for the rest of the season."

The judging panel comprises Sky Sports Football League expert Peter Beagrie, Football League Head of Communications John Nagle, BBC Sport's Mark Clemmit and npower Head of Sponsorship Emma Collins.
