Charlton Athletic boss Chris Powell is the npower League 1 Manager of the Month for January.

Powell led his side to an unbeaten month with four wins and a draw during January.

Former Charlton Athletic manager Alan Curbishley chairs the npower Manager of the Month judging panel.

He said: "It was yet another impressive month for Chris Powell, with his team unbeaten in their five fixtures.

"Charlton have shown great consistency this campaign and important victories over both promotion-chasing Sheffield clubs helped extend their lead at the top of npower League 1."

Addicks midfielder Johnnie Jackson was also named as the npower League 1 Player of the Month and npower Head of Sponsorship Emma Collins said: "Charlton further enhanced their promotion credentials last month after picking up 13 points from a possible 15.

"Chris has got his players playing with confidence and Johnnie showed that by scoring two of the most eye-catching goals we've seen all season.

"On behalf of npower, I'd like to congratulate Chris, Johnnie and the rest of the team, and wish them the best of luck for the rest of the season."

The judging panel comprises former Charlton Athletic manager Alan Curbishley, Sky Sports Football League expert Peter Beagrie, Football League Chief Operating Officer Andy Williamson, BBC Sport's Mark Clemmit, League Managers Association Deputy CEO Olaf Dixon and npower Head of Sponsorship Emma Collins.
