Each week the Official Football League website will bring you the Team of the Week. Produced by the Press Association, the Teams of the Week feature the eleven top performing players from each division from this weekend's matches.
With all the focus on the battle for the runners-up spot in npower League 1 this weekend it is perhaps no surprise to learn over a third of the final select XI of the season came from teams in the city of Sheffield. Wednesday claimed the second automatic promotion spot with a 2-0 win over already-relegated Wycombe Wanderers on Saturday and they supplied three players to the Team of the Week.
Michail Antonio scored the first in their 2-0 win over the Chairboys and he was selected in midfield, along with the Blades Kevin McDonald. The former Burnley man was also on the scoresheet at the weekend; he bagged two minutes into the second period to put Sheffield United 2-1 up at Exeter City, in a game they eventually drew 2-2.
The Owls Stephen Bywater takes his place between the sticks with team-mate Danny Batth sat in front of him at centre-half after the pair were rewarded for keeping a clean sheet at Hillsborough, on the way to their 28th win of the campaign.
Partnering Batth at the back is Stevenage's Mark Roberts who stood out for Boro as they won 3-0 at Bury to set up a Play-Off semi-final date with Sheffield United. Their Yorkshire rivals Huddersfield Town finished the season in fourth after a 2-0 win at home to Yeovil Town. Jack Hunt turned in a solid display for the Terriers and he completes the back four with Mat Sadler, who starred for Walsall in their 1-0 win over Milton Keynes Dons - who Huddersfield now face in the other Play-Off semi-final.
Huddersfield's Danny Ward was the second player from Simon Grayson's side to be named in the select team and he earned the plaudits after his performance and fine solo goal against the Glovers.
Brentford's Toumani Diagouraga was another goal scoring midfielder to make the cut, he scored the second of Brentford's three goals in their 3-2 victory over Chesterfield.
Up front Yann Kermorgant from the Bees' London rivals Charlton Athletic takes one of the attacking slots. The Frenchman scored his 12th of the season as the league champions also won by the odd goal in five and in doing so he took the Addicks over the 100-point mark. He is joined in attack by Walsall's Will Grigg who scored the only goal of the game in the Saddlers win at stadiummk.
