Ahead of Saturday's hotly-anticipated League 1 Play-Off Final between Huddersfield Town and Sheffield United, The Football League has unveiled the 2011/2012 npower League 1 Team of the Season, as chosen by the pundits of BBC Sport's 'The Football League Show'.

Selected by experts including Manish Bhasin, Steve Claridge, Mark Clemmit and Leroy Rosenior, four of the eleven players named will take part in Saturday's game.

Sheffield United's exciting young defenders Matt Lowton and Harry Maguire, along with Huddersfield Town's prolific goalscorer Jordan Rhodes and winger Gary Roberts, all made the XI ahead of the Wembley clash.

The full npower League 1 Team of the Season is as follows:

Goalkeeper - Ben Hamer - Charlton Athletic
Right Back - Matt Lowton - Sheffield United
Left Back - Scott Laird - Stevenage
Centre Back - Harry Maguire - Sheffield United
Centre Back - Michael Morrison - Charlton Athletic
Right Wing - Gavin Williams - Yeovil Town
Left Wing - Gary Roberts - Huddersfield Town
Central Midfield - Johnnie Jackson - Charlton Athletic
Central Midfield - Stephen Gleeson - Milton Keynes Dons
Striker - Jordan Rhodes - Huddersfield Town
Striker - Gary Madine - Sheffield Wednesday

Lowton, 22, and Maguire, 19, have had a crucial role at the heart of United's defence this season, as they helped Danny Wilson's side establish themselves amongst the promotion contenders throughout the campaign.

As advertisements for the success of the United academy they have been real defensive rocks, with BBC reporter Mark Clemmit saying of Maguire: "He's shown maturity and wisdom beyond his years and in a really competitive division they have both shone."

Not surprisingly, Jordan Rhodes was a unanimous choice for one of the attacking positions, his 40 goals marking him out as a striker of rare distinction.

Steve Claridge said of the Terriers' frontman: "You found yourself seeking
out their results every weekend just to see if Rhodes had scored another," while Bhasin commented: "The thing that struck me most when meeting him is how down to earth he is, which could be good news for Huddersfield fans as he may decide development at the Galpharm is more important than a big money move."
