Shrewsbury have announced the signings of Luke Summerfield and Rob Purdie after the duo turned down new deals with their respective clubs.

Midfielder Summerfield rejected an offer from Cheltenham, while Purdie left relegated Hereford to make the step up to npower League One.

The pair become Graham Turner's fifth and sixth captures of the summer as he builds a squad to compete in the third tier.

Both will be joined by the club's other close season recruits Asa Hall, Aaron Wildig, Darren Jones and Ryan Doble when the squad report for pre-season training later this week.
