Tranmere have completed the signing of defender Roman Golobart from Wigan on a month-long loan deal.
The 20-year-old, who moved to the Latics from Spanish side Espanyol in 2009, spent last season on loan at Inverness, where he was voted the supporters' Player of the Season after helping the club stay in the Scottish Premier League.
Manager Ronnie Moore said: "I'm really pleased to bring Roman in from Wigan.
"With Ian Goodison injured, Ash Taylor picking up a knock at Aston Villa and Mark McChrystal still needing more games following his injury we were short at the back, so Roman is a welcome arrival.
"He's a tall, dominant centre-back who has good experience from his time in Scotland last season.
"Wigan rate him highly and I'm sure he'll be a good addition to our back line."
