Crawley midfielder Scott Neilson has joined Blue Square Bet Premier side Grimsby on loan.

Neilson will link up with the Mariners for three months after struggling to break into the first team at the Broadfield Stadium this season.

The 25-year-old has made just one appearance from the bench, when he scored the winner in the 3-2 victory over Gillingham in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy earlier this month.

Manager Richie Barker told the club website: "Scott needs to get games under his belt and this is a good opportunity for him.

"Grimsby's style of play should suit him and I am sure the loan, which ends on December 22, will benefit everyone and we wish him all the best."
