Kevin Blackwell has completed his first signing as Bury boss by securing the services of Wolves defender Matt Doherty on a three-month loan deal.

The Republic of Ireland Under-19 international joined Wolves from Bohemians in the summer of 2010 and made his first-team bow for the Molineux outfit in an FA Cup tie with Doncaster the following January.

Doherty boasts a total of six senior appearances for Wolves and spent the second half of last season on loan with Hibernian in the Scottish Premier League. The 20-year-old is eligible to make his Bury debut at home to Swindon in this weekend.
