Tranmere will be without Jake Jervis for a fortnight after the on-loan Birmingham striker picked up an ankle injury.

Jervis sustained the problem after opening the scoring in Saturday's 3-1 defeat at Bournemouth and joins fellow forward Jean-Louis Akpa Akpro on the sidelines.

"He's going to be out for a fortnight which is a blow for us," Rovers boss Ronnie Moore told Tranmere Player.

"He could have had a hat-trick on Saturday. He had a great volley that the keeper has saved, he's scored and he had a little flick that has gone just past the post and could have been a penalty.

"That's when he's got the injury, the lad has come straight through on his standing foot and he's jarred his ankle.

"He's got bad swelling on it and we'll be lucky if he's fit in a fortnight. The disappointing thing is the boy is injured but we've still got to pay the loan fee."
