Tranmere have completed the signing of Blackpool forward Nathan Eccleston on a one-month loan deal.

The Liverpool Academy graduate, 21, is available to make his Rovers debut against Preston this weekend and has also been granted permission to appear in the npower League One leaders' FA Cup first-round tie against Braintree on November 4.

Eccleston enjoyed loan spells with Huddersfield and Charlton during his time at Liverpool, where he made a solitary Europa League start among nine first-team appearances.

Prenton Park boss Ronnie Moore has been on the lookout for attacking reinforcements in recent weeks following injuries to Jean-Louis Akpa Akpro and Birmingham loanee Jake Jervis, and is delighted to have secured the services of a wanted man.

Moore told Tranmere's official website: "I'm really pleased to be able to bring in a player of Nathan's quality. There were quite a few League One clubs interested in signing him. He's quick and strong and can score goals and he'll be a good addition to our squad.

"With Jean-Louis Akpa Akpro and Jake Jervis both out injured, Nathan will give us a bit more pace in attack. I'm grateful to Ian Holloway and Blackpool for letting him come to us."
